Apple Cheddar Quesadillas

When life gives you apples, join the Veggie Kids Club and make this fun dish featuring apples and cheddar cheese combination. Children can help by spreading the apple butter and washing the apples, shredding the cheese, and more. It's always better when we prepare food together. This recipe is CACFP creditable too!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 whole wheat wraps

  • ½ cup apple butter

  • 4 ounces reduced fat cheddar cheese shredded

  • 1 apple, thinly sliced

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Lay wraps on a flat surface and spread 1/8 cup of apple butter over half of each wrap.

  2. Top apple butter with shredded cheddar cheese and thinly sliced apples.

  3. Fold wrap in half, making a half-moon shape.

  4. Place quesadillas on medium heated griddle or pan and cook for about 5 minutes until browned on bottom. Carefully flip over and cook the other side until browned and cheese is milted, about 3 to 4 minutes.
