  • The Brightside Up Human Resource Generalist proactively administers a broad range of human resources responsibilities. The ideal candidate possesses knowledge non-profit compliance with laws and regulations and is versed in establishing and administering systems for tracking of professional development, performance reviews and other Human Resources Functions. There is an opportunity to develop and implement new human resources initiatives. We are excited to find a seasoned human resource generalist for this new role who has a detail-oriented mindset and a systems development approach.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Collaborates with the leadership to understand and execute the organization’s human resource tasks.

    • Develops best practice systems for recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and document retention.

    • Tracks orientation and onboarding program.

    • Develops and updates a salary scale.

    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and updates policies and practices to maintain compliance.

    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Salary: $50,000 - $65,000.00 per year

  • The Early Childhood Educator Trainer/Coach provides programmatic coaching and training to teaching staff, center directors, family childcare providers, school-age child care providers, and parents; facilitating adult learning related to the growth, development, and learning of children in the early child care setting and home.

    Essential Functions:

    • Facilitate weekly professional development workshops.

    • Provide regular onsite coaching in childcare programs.

    • Model developmentally appropriate interactions/practices/strategies/techniques.

    • Conduct observation utilizing evidence-based (and setting appropriate) tools and analyze results to create and implement individualized action plans and goals.

    • Encourage, support, motivate, and work interactively with caregivers to develop and implement goals.

    • Support caregivers to provide environments and opportunities that promote children’s growth and development.

    • Promote reflective practices.

    • Offer resources and strategies to staff to enhance relationships, create appropriate environments, and support child development.

    • Support providers to develop individual plans to improve their environments, teaching practices to support young children’s growth and development, and overall program quality.

    • Assist providers in identifying resources in accordance with individual plans.

    Salary $50,000 – 55,000 annually

  • The Registrar Position is responsible for implementing the registration process for school-age and family child care programs. Responsibilities include in-person monitoring of child care facilities to ensure compliance with licensing requirements; reviewing and recommending/approving case actions; and investigating complaints involving violations of the New York State Child Care Regulations and violations of licensing requirements, including abuse and neglect of children in both licensed and unlicensed facilities; and assisting child care providers in meeting minimum requirements and attaining optimum quality by providing on-going technical assistance and consultation to the facility.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    o Review and process registration and renewal applications

    o Conduct inspections for compliance to regulations and in response to complaints

    o Maintain inspection and compliance documentation in the Child Care Facility System

    o Provide technical assistance to help potential applicants understand and comply with regulations

    o Send notices and follow-up with providers subject to regulation

    o Work in collaboration with the Education/Training Team to accomplish professional development goals for all registered providers

    QUALIFICATIONS

    o A minimum of Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required, Bachelor Degree preferred

    o A minimum of three to five years’ experience in early childhood or school-age setting required

    o Home visitation experience preferred

    o Must have insured vehicle and be legally eligible to drive to regular program assignments

    o Must be able to respond to diverse physical demands of program assignments.

    o Must be able to perform the above essential duties in the following manner:

  • The Regional Infant Toddler Specialist provides training, technical assistance, coaching and support to infant and toddler educators, program directors and families of the region. They work in collaboration with licensing consultants, CCR&R Quality Improvement staff and other community agency staff such as Quality Stars NY to improve the quality and availability of infant-toddler care in the region.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Work collaboratively with the region’s CCR&R Quality Improvement staff and all other individuals providing technical assistance, coaching, and training to child care providers serving infants and toddlers in the region.

    • Work collaboratively with licensing consultants, abuse and neglect consultants, early intervention specialists, quality improvement specialists, community college educators, child care health consultants, and health inspectors working with child care providers serving infants and toddlers in the region.

    • Provide IT-SIDS (Infant Toddler Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) prevention trainings, Infant/Toddler Core trainings and various other trainings as needed.

    • Develop and facilitate workshops on infant/toddler topics and create additional training as requested for child care providers in the region.

    • Develop knowledge of different types of child care programs and the people who work in them.

    • Develop and facilitate Training of Trainer (ToT) trainer curriculum on best practices in infant/toddler care for regional CCR&R staff.

    • Recruit and maintain a caseload of programs serving infants and/or toddlers which includes developing program plans based on approved, research-based models (i. e. ITERS, CSEFEL), implementing these plans through technical assistance visits, writing site visit summaries and assessing progress towards meeting goals with the overall project goal being to improve the quality and increase the availability of infant toddler child care services throughout the region.

    • Collect data on the availability and quality of infant-toddler care within the region as specified by the Coordinator of the Statewide Infant Toddler Project.

    • Work collaboratively within the NYS Infant-Toddler Network.

    • Perform rating scale assessments across the region.

    • Coordinate resources for community-based projects and initiatives; including the engagement and education of families.

    • Guide use of developmental, social, and emotional screening tools.

    • Provide Practice Based Coaching (PBC) for early childhood staff. Coach early childhood staff in best Infant and Toddler practices.

    • Support Infant and Toddler staff with classroom teaching strategies.

    • Together with teaching staff and families, plan, implement, and monitor specific interventions for individual children or classrooms.

    • Help early childhood programs foster relationships with community services and providers.

    • Work with early childhood program administration to develop policies and practices for working with children.

    • Maintain up-to-date records and program logs on all services provided.

    • Provide families with information on child development.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be available to travel. The individual must be able to speak effectively before groups of people, or employees of the organization.

    Education and experience: Bachelor's or Master’s (preferred) degree in Early Childhood or related field. Three to five years of experience working with infants and toddlers in an early childhood setting.

    o Must have insured vehicle and be legally eligible to drive to regular program assignments.

    o Must be able to respond to diverse physical demands of program assignments.

    o Must be able to perform the above essential duties in the following manner:
